Journey to Recovery
This 2-day, 1 hour per session course is intended to increase self-awareness about the participants’ recovery. We will begin by defining what recovery and the recovery model are, then move into the stages of recovery. Topics also covered include the stages of disability and the stages of change. The purpose of this course is to encourage participants to recognize their own place within recovery and encourage advancement towards the healthiest stage of recovery possible.
Building a Healthy Self-Esteem
This 2-day, 1 hour per session course is intended to inform the participants of healthy self-esteem and self-confidence. We will cover obstacles to self-esteem, the inner critic and the four aspects of self-esteem. This course will encourage participants to reflect on the own level of self-esteem and offer opportunities and methods to improve self-confidence.
Coping with the Holidays
This 2-day, 1.5 hour course identifies common stressors many face around the holidays. Practical strategies on how to cope with holiday stress are discussed as well as interactive sharing opportunities for students to learn from each other about what skills.
Building Healthy Friendships
This 4-day, 1 hour per session course focuses on self-esteem, self-worth, loneliness, self-care, making new friends (where, how and who). It also addresses barriers to friendship, healthy boundaries and communication skills. This course helps students build the healthiest friendships possible for the betterment of their recovery.
Building Blocks for Managing Stress
This 2-day, 1 hour per session course begins by exploring the causes and how the body responds to stress as well as including relaxation techniques. Day 2 focuses on offering solutions to the problem of stress by teaching useful coping strategies.
Building Healthy Relationships & Sexuality
This 2-day, 1.5 hour per session course will focus on a broad range of topics intended to expand the participants’ understanding of sexuality and healthy relationships. Sex versus gender, stigma, body image and sexuality and mental illness will all be covered on Day 1. Day 2 will focus heavily on sexual health, covering sexual protection, sexually transmitted infections, contraception and treatment of STIs as well as a focus on consent, healthy relationships and assertiveness.
Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) Training
The Wellness Recovery Action Plan® or WRAP®, is a self-designed prevention and wellness process that anyone can use to get well, stay well and make their life the way they want it to be.
