CMHA Central is proud to provide a variety of courses through the Thrive Learning Centre.
FOCUS ON MENTAL HEALTH
These courses provide information on specific mental health problems, as well as skills and strategies for coping with them.
This 5 session, 1 hour per session course covers anxiety and anxiety disorders including symptoms, risk factors, complications, common disorders and treatment options and coping skills to manage anxiety.
This 4 session, 1 hour per session course covers major depressive disorder including signs and symptoms, impacts on your body, mind, and relationships. Strategies and coping skills to live well with depression will be discussed.
This 1.5 hour single session course will provide information on Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder including symptoms, challenges, medication, and helpful strategies to manage the disorder.
Mental Health and Mr Rogers
This 4 session, 1 hour per session course looks at the teachings of Mr. Rogers, and how they can better our mental health.
Navigating Mental Health Services in My Community
This 1 hour course looks at how to access and connect with mental health services and resources in the local and neighbouring communities.
FOCUS ON PHYSICAL HEALTH
These courses focus on the link between physical and mental health, improving physical health and dealing with physical health problems.
Walk and Talk
This interactive course is about feeling good! Research suggests physical activity at least 20 minutes daily can improve mental and physical health. We invite students to join us as we walk towards better health.
